Comfort Measures for Birth and Beyond

Comfort Measures for Birth and Beyond is a fun and interactive 3-hour course that focuses on non-medicated pain management options for comfort during labor. Instructors will use a blend of lecture, discussion and relaxation techniques to help couples develop their own personal toolkit of comfort measures allowing them to move through labor with confidence. Bring your partner or support person, dress comfortably, and be prepared to move and practice labor positions and relaxation! This is NOT a stand-alone childbirth class. Couples are expected to understand stages of labor and the birth process prior to attending. We recommend this course as a supplement to our Understanding Childbirth eClass or Virtual Childbirth Express. Also a great “refresher” course for couples expecting their second or subsequent child.

Masks are optional for participants and instructors.

Class fee includes participant and one adult partner. Partners/coaches are encouraged to attend.

Who should enroll: Expectant mothers ages 18 and older. Children are not permitted in class. Your registration allows for one adult partner to attend the class with you.

Weather policy: Information about cancellations due to inclement weather or an area emergency can be obtained by calling the Inova Well weather hotline at 571-472-1438. Class cancellations do not always follow local public school closings. To reschedule or request a refund for cancellation due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances call 571-472-1438. Classes not rescheduled within 30 days of cancellation will automatically be refunded to the credit card used for registration. These non-registrant initialed cancellations, refunds and transfers will not incur a 20% processing fee.

What to bring:

Feel free to bring a snack. There are no vending machines or cafeterias nearby.
